DIONYSUS Say They Are 'Extremely Proud' Of Their New Album
November 11, 2003DIONYSUS, the Swedish/German melodic power metal act featuring the voice behind guitarist Luca Turilli's solo work, Olaf Hayer, and ex-SINERGY drummer Ronny Milianowicz, have posted the following message on their web site:
"Hello dear fans!
"It's time for a new DIONYSUS album, and the release date is finally set to January 19! Right now we're in the rehearsing room, rehearsing 110% for the European tour with SAXON, DORO, CIRCLE II CIRCLE which commences November 28 in Spain.
"If you get a chance to meet up after the concert we will be there promoting our new album 'Anima Mundi', instead of drinking beer afterwards. :-) We will give away promotion CDs made by our record label AFM Records, and they will include 4 songs and give away flyers etc. The promo also contains a clip of the title track 'Anima Mundi', the final version and not the same as on the AFM compilation sampler released with some mags like Sweden Rock magazine, a full version of the epic club hit 'March for Freedom', a clip of extremely fast opening track 'Divine' and, finally, a clip of the ultra heavy 'Bringer of War' which continue the story of 'Bringer of Salvation' from our debut album 'Sign of Truth'. This time we stayed in Sweden for our recordings. The CD was recorded at Studio Kuling Sweden with mastermind producer/technician Jens Bogren (KATATONIA, CRYSTAL BLUE).
"The production is crystal clear and with punch enough to smack your face while blasting your speakers. We are extremely proud of this album and, feeling as we do now, we will continue to record in this studio. It's got a nice countryside feel with big panorama windows and a extremely nice (but heavily farting) engineer behind the mixing console. We recorded the basics, like drums, bass, rhythm guitars, lead and backing vocals, in April/May. After that Johnny and Kaspar recorded their solos, along with some additional backing vocals, in 'Jungfrulund studios', owned and engineered by Nobby. Some of the epic choirs on 'March for Freedom' were also made in Ronny's 'God Of Wine Studios' where a lot of the pre-production demo songs were made as well. Then we waited until world-known band LAMBRETTA had finished their recordings, so we could go back and mix the album in October. Ronny and Jens then went to the legendary Polar studios (ABBA, DEF LEPPARD) to work the mastering miracle.
"The album cover was made by Derek Gores who also worked with KAMELOT etc. We hope you will like the album as much as we do!
"See you on tour!"
